WHICH SERVICE DO YOU NEED?

Renting with Flying Squirrel is an easy process, but differs for experienced pilots and student pilots.

For experienced private pilots, the process requires:

  • Signing a rental agreement

For a student pilot..

  • A student pilot must be under the direction of one of our Certified Flight Instructors

  • Valid renters insurance coverage (minimum requirements apply)

  • Signing a rental agreement

Rates are $100.00 per hour, plus Ohio sales tax, and any other applicable fees*

INSTRUCTION

Learning to fly is fun and rewarding, but the process is not the same for everyone. The FAA requires a minimum of 40 hours of instruction for a private pilot's certificate, but this is a minimum. The actual amount of time depends on the pilots ability to learn the required maneuvers, and can greatly vary based on a pilots skill level.

An important part of this process is the relationship between the student pilot and the flight instructor. Flying Squirrel Aviation has several qualified Certified Flight Instructors that students can hire for flight instruction. It's not unusual for a potential student to take the time to meet the instructor, ask questions, and determine if they are the right fit for them.

All CFIs are unique and have their own teaching style. Do not be embarrassed or afraid to tell a potential instructor if you're not sure of your compatibility with them. They fully understand this and will not be the least bit offended if you want to choose a different instructor.

The rates for a CFI are negotiated between you and the instructor, so fees can vary.

CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

We currently have several options available to pair you with a CFI that best fits you ability. In addition to beginning flight training, a CFI is required to check out prospective renters through a check ride. Regardless of your ability this is a condition of our insurance carrier.
